Working in Theatres

I worked yesterday in Theatres for the first time in 25 years! It was really interesting to see how little the instruments have changed!

The worst thing was at the end of the day, my feet were killing me and my back was aching something terrible! Today I wore compression socks (the ones you wear on a plane to prevent DVT's) , and I took every opportunity to sit down and today was lots better!

The staff there seem great and I have a good boss!

I spent the first 3 days of the week at Gosford for general Orientation - that was interesting - significant changes in OH & S. I'll be down in Gosford for another 3 days at the end of the month for specific orientation for the Theatres.

It's nice to be employed again. It's a good feeling making a contribution to society again.

Hey Warren what are compression songs - are they some type of special underwear?

Glad you are enjoying the work.

Glad to see you're earning your keep again! About those songs - I'd like to hear them :)
Stay off your feet for the weekend, okay!

I read your blog often to keep up with where you are and what you are doing.

Good luck with the job.

Sorry for the typo! Compression socks are the ones that you wear on a plane to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT's) or clots in the back of the leg!

Hi Cuz Those OR floors are hard until you get used to them again. I almost envy you. Could you send me the compression songs to put on my iPod?

Glad you survived the first week Scas. The aching legs will improve, but cant guarantee the aching back...old age doesnt help!!

The compression "songs" were a rather creative solution to your aches and pains!!

At least we are all on the same page (working) again even if the tune is a little varied. Hope it all works well.

As you say things have changed but the blood is still red. Glad you are enjoying it but haven't seen any further posting since Jan, what is that saying?
